Frigiliana
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
Steep cobbled alleys wind between white, flower-hung houses in the old Moorish quarter of Frigiliana, on the southern slopes of the Sierra de Almijara a few kilometres inland from Nerja. Ceramic panels on its walls tell of the Morisco uprising and the battle of the Peñón de Frigiliana in 1569. A Renaissance palace, El Ingenio, still makes Europe's only cane honey.
