Urueña
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
Since 2007 Urueña has been Spain's first Villa del Libro, its walled streets lined with second-hand and antiquarian bookshops. The village sits on a hill looking over the Tierra de Campos, ringed by much of its medieval wall with two gates and the remains of a castle that now serves as the cemetery. Outside the walls stands the Romanesque hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Anunciada.
