Loro Ciuffenna
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Below the slopes of the Pratomagno, on the edge of the upper Valdarno, the village sits in the valley of the Ciuffenna torrent, whose Etruscan-sounding name was added to the old name of Loro, from the Latin for laurel, in 1863. First recorded in 1059 as a castle of the Conti Guidi, it came under Florence in 1293 and grew with Florentine and Aretine money.
