Tucked into a tight loop of the Serein, Noyers keeps its medieval web of cobbled lanes, small squares and half-timbered houses, many from the 16th century, with towers ranged along the river. Its castle, once praised as one of the proudest in France, was dismantled by Henri IV in 1599.
