Alsace wine villages

An easy two-day trip on the Alsace wine route, between the foothills of the Vosges and the Rhine plain. From Strasbourg the road heads south to Mittelbergheim and to Bergheim inside its old walls, then through the vineyards to Hunawihr and its fortified church. Riquewihr follows, and the trip ends close to Colmar at Eguisheim, whose streets curl in rings around its castle.
