Diano Castello
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
When Genoa crushed Pisa at Meloria in 1284, this hill village sent a galley of its own and was rewarded with the title 'Magnifica'. The battle still covers the façade of the town hall. Built in the 10th century as Castrum Diani against Saracen raids, the village overlooks the coastal plain of Diano Marina, among olive groves and Vermentino vineyards.
Highlights

- Baroque San Nicola di Bari, with a crucifix attributed to Maragliano
