Chambon-sur-Voueize
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Two rivers, the Voueize and the Tardes, meet at Chambon-sur-Voueize, in the green, rolling Combraille country close to the Voueize gorges. The small town grew around the abbey church of Sainte-Valérie, begun in the 11th century, and a medieval bridge still crosses the Voueize. Around it lie lakes, woods and protected river valleys.
